1st China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From April 9 to 11, 1993, the 1st China Pu'er Tea Festival was held in Simao City with one branch meeting venue set at Pu'er County (current Ninger County). It saw participation of guests from a dozen of provinces and municipalities of China and from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the US and Myanmar, and the organization of colorful economic, trade and cultural exchange activities, including the China Pu'er Tea International Symposium, the China Ancient Tea Tree Heritage Protection Seminar and the Exhibition of Works of the Chinese Stamp Designers. 
 
2nd China Pu'er Tea Festival 
 
The 2nd China Pu'er Tea Festival, hosted from April 16 to 18, 1995 in Simao City, set up a commodity exhibition and sales market at the Minzu Street where 9 counties and 1 city dispatched 142 enterprises to attend, thus exhibiting and selling more than 200 kinds of local products, organized the large-scale theatrical performance entitled "Song of Pu'er Tea" to demonstrate the charm of Pu'er tea, launched the tour routes to the Lancang Jingmai tea plantation of more than 1,000 years old and with an area of over 10,000 mu and to Simao Port as well, and arranged tea art shows, tea-picking songs in antiphonal style and other wonderful programs.
 
3rd China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
The 3rd China Pu'er Tea Festival was held from February 26 to 28, 1997 in Simao City, during which, the 2nd China Pu'er Tea International Symposium was convened; delegates from developed areas in East China and in coastal regions took part in development of Simao tea, forest and other raw material resources, becoming a highlight of economic cooperation of the tea festival; exhibition and performance on tea art, songs and dances and customs by minority nationalities were present for guests to enable them to understand the colorful national culture; and the Annals of Simao Region launched its release and initial issuance. 
 
4th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From May 15 to 18, 1999, the 4th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held in Simao City, for which press conferences were held in Shanghai and Kunming in succession. More than 500 visitors and 94 enterprises took part in the exhibition for trade, with over 200 commodities exhibited including tea, coffee and white sugar. During the festival, PUER Home Town and Simao Tea Association were established to redeem the glory of Pu'er tea and promote Pu'er tea culture.
 
5th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From April 8 to 11, 2001, the 5th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held in Simao City, which also served as a branch meeting venue for the 2nd China Kunming International Tourism Festival and 1st National Spring Tea Trade Fair in Kunming, China. This festival saw the opening of China Pu'er Tea Trade Market, holding of the 3rd China Pu'er Tea International Symposium and hosting of a variety shows themed with "Spring Wave of Tea Hometown", where performance on tea art and tea ceremony and other cultural and artistic activities demonstrated the charm of the land of tea.
 
6th China Pu'er Tea Festival 
 
During the 6th China Pu'er Tea Festival held from April 18 to 20, 2003 in Simao City, the sculpture entitled "Tea Ancestor Zhuge Kongming" was unveiled; the first national brand-name and high-quality Pu'er tea appraisal activity and the first national minority tea art competition were held; the classic music concert with the charm of tea as the theme was also organized; the 600 booths were offered at the exhibition for tea products and famous, characteristic and quality commodities, attracting over 2,100 visitors from 860 enterprises from both home and abroad to present at the trade fair.
 
7th China Pu'er Tea Festival 
 
From April 27 to 30, 2005, the 7th China Pu'er Tea Festival, First Global Pu'er Tea Carnival and First Pu'er Trade Fair of Yunnan Province were held in Simao City. With the "Tea Source of the World, Tea City of China and Hometown of Pu'er Tea" as the theme, a series of creative and original activities were organized, including the tea ancestor worshipping ceremony, the campaign entitled "the Caravan and the Tea-Horse Roads: Paying the Auspicious Tribute Tea to the Capital", the 3rd National Minority Tea Art Competition and the "Global Top Ten Outstanding Figures for Pu'er Tea" appraisal activity. 
 
8th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From April 8 to 10, 2007, the 8th China Pu'er Tea Festival, the 2nd Global Pu'er Tea Carnival, the 2nd Pu'er Trade Fair of Yunnan Province and the ceremony for renaming Simao City as Pu'er City were held in Simao City. For these, the return of the tribute tea, the tea ancestor worshipping ceremony, the "Global Top Ten Outstanding Figures for Pu'er Tea" appraisal activity, the opening of the Tea Source Plaza and the photographic exhibition entitled "Gotheborg Travel Guide" were carried out in good order, which greatly enhanced the public awareness of Pu'er. 
 
9th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
November 18 to 20, 2009 saw the 9th Pu'er Tea Festival and 2nd Yunnan Ethnic Costume Festival held in Simao City. The image of Pu'er was greatly enhanced though a series of activities, such as the National Minority Tea Art and Tea Ceremony Competition, the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Tasly Industrial Park, the 1st Scientific Pu'er Expert Forum and Launch of the Digital Tea Mountain, the 3rd "Global Top Ten Outstanding Figures for Pu'er Tea" appraisal activity, the Forum on China Ancient Tea Tree Heritage Protection, Ancient Tea Tree Resource Development, etc. 
 
10th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From November 5 to 7, 2010, the 10th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held in Shanghai. More than 30 news media with CCTV and Xinhuanet.com (Xinhua New Agency) Shanghai Branch included attended and reported the opening ceremony. This has been the first time for Pu'er tea to walk out of Pu'er and rely on the international platform of Shanghai to build its international brand that is themed with "Scientific Pu'er, Healthy Life" and will grow to be "renowned in China, famous in the world and favored by all humans".
 
11th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
The 11th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held from April 27 to 29, 2011 and in Simao City. One hundred artists, one hundred calligraphers and one hundred photographers came to Pu'er to give Pu'er tea new humanistic interpretations. 11 calligraphers wrote the same character "Cha" (meaning "tea" literally") in 11 different ways, drawing the curtain for "Pu'er 2011 in Calligraphy and Painting". In addition, the National Ethnic Tea Art and Tea Ceremony Competition and visit of Chinese and foreign guests to the tea mountain also enhanced the brand effects of Pu'er tea.
 
12th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
From June 16th to June 19th, 2012, Beijing International Tea Expo, Beijing Maliandao International Tea Culture Festival and the 12th China Pu'er Tea Festival were convened in Beijing. The Pu'er tea exhibition, the "Youth and Pu'er" series of activities, the green economy development seminar, the upscale tea appreciation, the night of coffee and the premiere of the movie Mount Awa brought people from all around the world to experience the unique charm of the "Wonderful Pu'er as a Regimen Paradise".
 
13th China Pu'er Tea Festival
 
2013 International Tea Convention, 8th Yunnan (China) International Pu'er Tea Expo and 13th China Pu'er Tea Festival was held from May 25th to 27th in Pu'er. The International Tea Convention was the only one of its kind reported by the Ministry of Commerce, reviewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and approved by the State Council. It is a name card of China's tea industry for the international market. At the same time, the tea festival further enhanced the popularity and reputation of Pu'er, brought more people to understand Pu'er and experience the sound ecological environment in Pu'er and attracted more enterprises to invest in dendrobium, coffee and other green industries. It also provided an opportunity for the integration of Pu'er ethnic minority culture and Pu'er tea culture and for meeting of international elements with Pu'er elements.
